  1. Backstabs doing more damage actually does make sense, as when you're attacking someone from the front they're more prone to try to block you, and if you attack from the back its easier to hit weak points as they can't see where you're striking at.

  2. my guy if your spine “blocks” the force from the back stab.. you are 100% keeling over. i think the idea is also that from the back you can make an attack on vital and unguarded areas, its kind of the character’s aim with the knife instead of the players

  3. The whole point of this mechanic is to reward smart and thoughtful players who take the time to flank the enemy and sneak behind them. It makes sense that you can insta-kill by wildly waving the knife around, but with careful planning can execute a 1-shot from behind without the enemy anticipating it.

  4. Stabbing from the front gives the person being stabbed the ability to defend themselves also behind someone your able to access more important ligaments to instantly disable and are able to more accurately place your stabs for lethal attacks

  5. Most militaries have little armor situated on the back of their sdiers and typical gear.
It mames sense that a back stab would work as the front typically carries a heavy plate and .uch stronger armor than the back which only is typically protected by kevlar or other similar material. Its not the factor of the strength of bone but whether or not the knife even gets to the flesh and innards of the enemy. Which is why it makes sens that a backstab works.
