Chinese game developer BOKURA revealed in an announcement trailer on Thursday that its Blue Protocol: Star Resonance multiplayer online game, based on Bandai Namco Online’s Blue Protocol game, will launch in English this year on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as for mobile devices on the Google Play Store and App Store.

The new game builds upon Blue Protocol’s anime-style visuals and graphics, and will feature a dynamic combat system (with class system, talent build, skill sets, etc.); an open-world landscape with quests, dungeons, and raids; character customization; and a multiplayer social experience through trade, guilds, and community events. Blue Protocol: Star Resonance will also feature cross-platform play support between mobile devices and PC.
Bandai Namco Online’s Blue Protocol multiplayer online game launched on PC in Japan in June 2023. The game ended its service on January 18, and its planned release in the West in partnership with Amazon Games was also canceled. The game was originally scheduled to launch globally for free in the second half of 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The game launched for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in December 2023.
Ater the announcement of the game’s end service on August 28, Bokura revealed the Star Resonance game “based on the Blue Protocol IP,” and conducted a closed beta test for Chinese players in December.
