Evo Japan 2025 went down this past weekend bringing top tier fighting game action to fans all around the world.
But besides the big competition, there was also plenty of fighting game announcements to be found at and surrounding the event.
As such, we’re going to be going over all of the big reveals from Evo Japan you may have missed out on given the time differences for those of us in the West.
We ended up seeing news out of Capcom / Activision Blizzard, Sega, Arc System Works and more that’s worth taking a gander at.
Although SNK didn’t have a trailer for the first Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves DLC character, we did still get our first taste of Andy Bogard’s gameplay, which is looking like he’s shaping up nicely.
Let’s dive further into the reveals from this past weekend.
Blizzard actually kicked things off in surprising fashion with the announcement of an Overwatch 2 X Street Fighter 6 collaboration.
There will be eight crossover skins available later this month as teased in the animated trailer.
In another unexpected drop, the first trailer for Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games released during Evo Japan.
The anime is set to come out in 2025 and features Street Fighter 6 as the title the girls are competing in.
As promised, Cygames showed up to the event with the full gameplay trailer for Galleon in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.
The next DLC character is set to hit the game on May 27, so she’ll be here in just a few weeks.
Arc System Works had a brand new trailer teasing the arrival of Unika in Guilty Gear Strive.
She’ll be out on the same day as Galleon though we’re still waiting to see her full gameplay trailer too.
The new Arc World Tour details were also revealed during the event with the finals taking place in Seoul, South Korea.
Bandai Namco had quite a bit to say about Tekken 8 at Evo Japan including revealing Fahkumram as the next DLC character to hit the game.
Moreover, they detailed the next three updates coming to Tekken 8 with Version 2.01 being available now.
Sega held a Virtua Fighter Direct this past weekend that revealed Wolf Hawkfield for the new Virtua Fighter project.
On top of that, Sega also announced Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is coming to the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X.
A beta for Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact was announced at Evo Japan, and it’ll come to the PS5 and Steam.
More information on the beta will be revealed at a later date.
