Nearly 3,353 players are competing at Kagaribi #13 this weekend. According to Smash Wiki, this makes Kagaribi #13 the second largest Super Smash Bros. event of all time, after Evo 2019.
At this point, thousands of players have already been eliminated. Only 192 players remain, though half of them are just barely hanging on within the losers bracket. By the end of it all, only one player will reign victorious.
This provides us with a grand opportunity to see how balanced Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is with it now being over three years since patch 13.0.1, which contained the final set of fighter adjustments for the game.
Unsurprisingly, Steve is still very clearly a top tier contender as 16 players using the Minecraft rep remain in the top 192. While four of these players are only using him as a secondary, this means that 12 players are using him as a main.
R.O.B. and Diddy Kong are the second and third most represented fighters in the top 192. Kazuya, Snake, and Fox also have very strong representation backing them.
Ultimately, every single character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is seeing some play in the top 192 with the exceptions of Bowser Jr., Lucina, Incineroar, Ike, Piranha Plant, Jigglypuff, Dr. Mario, Lucas, Mewtwo, King Dedede, Marth, and Richter Belmont. In other words, 74 out of 86 characters are still being played at this stage in the tournament.
