to be honest they could delete all the duplicated items in a click, maybe generate a new one of that same item and give it to the people that currently have it just to not make people that bought it angry, but if it happens in the future just delete the duplicated skin from the scammers inventories
and theyre not doing shit against inventories being sold for cents like me it happened 5 times and i lost my 60 euro inventory i suffered 6 months for but alr
few months ago my account got hijacked and my items were stolen from me, i manage to get my account back, but Steam Support cant do shit about the scam ahaha
I think the best way to implement this would be to add like a little lock button with confirmation where you can make the item untradable until you unlock it, and it will be on a trade cooldown for a few days or a week after you unlock it.
you will really have time to think before trading something and consider if it might be a scam, or if someone were to access your account it would buy you some time to get it back.
Potentially a step further and have it be invisible to others in your inventory, or even make it to where you can't put these items into a trade-up contract while locked, and have a few hour cooldown on that after unlocked so you don't accidentally destroy an item you didn't mean to.
I haven't ever been scammed (yet) but I think this would definitely help people feel more safe.
why would anybody lock their items PERMANENTLY. Does not make any sense, I would rather lock it without setting a date and when you want to sell it or trade you just unlock it.
So scammers will just try to phish your login so they can unlock the locked items. This leak is stupid and won't save idiots from clicking phishing links.
If its "Escrow" like the attribute says, its more than likely a precautionary measure for an ongoing trade. Like if you send someone a trade offer, any items you put into that trade offer go into this "escrow" status where they can not be modified until a certain date, or if the trade is completed.

This should never be permanent though – imagine the griefing people can do to expensive inventories
They need to change how storage units works. Should be a "select all" option etc. Instead of clicking 1000 freakin times…

You should be able to loan friends skins and it make it only tradable between those two accounts until it comes back to the owners inventory

They should just make it so that you can trade ban items for a fully custom amount of time, as in set it for like idk 150 days or something
This + ID verification + FACE ID will effectively eliminate all scams.
pin code on storage units would be nice or some way to lock them for x amount of time
