Valve updated the space limit for maps on the workshop just for cache or at least it seems like it, FMPONE seemed like he had a direct contact with Valve, I think it is very unlikely that that guy is not bullshitting
how tf can a professional mapper leave tarp with 100k+ polygons. there's literally a one-click solution for reducing the amount of polygons if you are lazy (3d artists know what i mean)
The issue is, Cache cannot be really updated in any way besides visuals. Think about it.
Cache is one of those maps that is just perfect in execution, unlike Anubis or Ancient which have a couple of things wrong with them. Besides Mirage, Inferno, Dust 2 and Cache, there are no other perfect maps. Maybe also new Train, but I haven't played it that much recently.
Clean 3 lane layout with plenty of cover. Everything placed perfectly. No need to add a hallway somewhere or to shorten or lenghten something. It is just a masterpiece.
Compare that to: – Anubis which theoretically is a CT-sided map and practically a T-sided map – old Cobble where playing Ts was damn near impossible – Office where the entire match happens in exactly three spots – Italy where I DON'T FUCKING KNOW WHERE THEY ARE BECAUSE THIS SHIT IS BUILT FOR SNIPERS ISTFG – Ancient where you cannot predict from which side Ts will attack as playing CTs on that map is a nightmare – Nuke where it takes 3 business days to rotate between sites even tho they are literally on top of each other – Overpass where you can graduate from college before you arrive when rotating between sites – Vertigo WHERE THEY FUCKING CHANGED SOMETHING MAJOR ABOUT THE MAP AGAIN, I CAN'T TAKE THIS SHIT NO MORE, HOW MANY UPDATES DOES THIS FUCKING MAP NEED AND WHY IS STILL IN THE RESERVE MAP POOL WHEN THE PLUG SHOULD HAVE BEEN PULLED ON THIS MAP YEARS AGO? WHAT WAS SO WRONG WITH THE ORIGINAL ONE? WHY DOES VALVE FEEL THE NEED TO CONSTANTLY CHANGE THIS MAP? THEY SHOULD CALL IT VERTIGO 2 AT THIS POINT WITH HOW MANY UPDATES IT GETS! WE ARE AT A POINT WHERE VERTIGO GETS MORE UPDATES THAN WE GET OPERATIONS, I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD!
