I am just beginning my journey. I have a great desk and chair, but want it to look less sad. Monitors, lighting, accessories – guide me Lord.

Don’t rush into things. Start small with a large XXL mousepad. Makes a big difference! Felt or leather mousepads always looks classy. Then maybe buy a fake plant. Eventually I would say to go for a monitor and monitor stand. Makes it look very clean and tidy.

One extra monitor will instantly make you feel less sad and less poor, everything else will seem like only a minor improvement

Side question: I found this chair on Amazon cuz I’m looking for a new one. How is this one and why?

  4. 1. Save your neck by buying a stand (https://a.co/d/fsMuNhl) and wired or wireless keyboard.
    2. Consider rotating your desk 90° so that your window light comes from the side to reduce potential eye strain. Stay close to it the window though, so you can occasionally focus on something in the distance during breaks.
    3. If you find yourself working at night frequently, then grab a small desk lamp.
    4. Add personal effects such as a family photo, souvenir from favorite trip, etc.

It’s a clean start, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I personally like a clean and minimalist setup. Have fun!

    Big mousepad

A gaming mouse if you game

    Keyboard

    Laptop stand

If you want some more maybe get a monitor too. Some stands allow the laptop to sit next to the monitor

If your planning to have a lot of appliances like keyboard mouse, webcam ect you might wanna get some extra USB ports https://amzn.eu/d/9kqdG79 you know smth like this, same with aux ports (sorry if that’s not what the mic ports are called😅) my laptop only has one so I had to get an adapter. Good luck

  8. Basically. You need money. That’s a good starting point. Focus on that.
