I have a 14900ks that is delided, I'm messing with my CPU today, it maybe has about 48 hours of power on time. Well today when I finally have gotten a chance to mess with it, after repasting with LM, I notice all my CPU cores idle around 34-36c in a water cooled build, water is currently 29.5c it's in a hot room, so I expect those temps even at idle.
Well I noticed my P core 1 when running the CPU at 5.7/4.6 would jump every few seconds from the mid 30s up to 50c+ then back down in a fraction of a second, not doing anything on the PC, this is continuous, as I disabled CPU C-State so the CPU always runs at 5.7/4.6, but if I put that specific core down to 5.6 HWInfo reports it's staying in the 34-36c range by lowering the OC on that core by .1.
When running a stress test tho the core doesn't instantly thermal throttle, instead my P Core 6 which idles around 34-36c can end up shooting to about 94c after a single run of cinebench.
I have tweaked the votages in bios for the CPU to run at 1.375v, but I noticed when I opened up XTU and was monitoring the temps and voltages, even tho my bios was configured at 1.375 with undervolt protection disabled, that all cores were still being ran at 1.45v.
So do I have a car CPU? If so I'm screwed because it's delided and I can't RMA it.
