Today i reached my currently best score on 3d mark: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/49085603
my goal was to reach the top 100 world leaderboard with my configuration, gpu stock air cooler (it's a reference) and cpu with a standard aio (alfc3).
the 100th position has 20990 points overall. I'm almost there but i am seriously thermally limited and i don't think i can push this 50 more points to do this.
I'll explain all my settings:
GPU:
- Static voltage 1.2v, i cannot increase this becouse my gpu will thermal throttle really hard, you can put a static voltage activating the temp dependent vmin and switching voltage from there, i don't know if there are other methods rn.
- 2750 mhz max and 2650 min for the core clock 2112 mhz vram clock, with fast timings, increasing this more will get slightly lower scores.
- 385W limit with 420TDP, with the slider on radeon master set to +15%, watching the power draw i can be almost sure i am not power limited
- fans are obv set to 100% all the time
CPU:
- 1.41v static voltage, pbo disabled
- 47 scalar for 4.7 GHZ constant on all cores
RAM:
- 3800MHZ with timings 16 – 16 – 16 – 16 – 32 – 48, i am relatively new to ram overclocking on samsung b-die so i think there is room for improvement
For cpu overclocking, a static overvolt is really not that useful without a good cooling solution, i can get practically the same scores just with pbo 2, curve set to -25 all the cores except for core 1 and 5 that runs better with -20, and +50ghz. I don't use pbo2 for best scores just becouse for me is less stable and i don't know what it's really doing behind the scenes.
Gpu overclocking is practically the same, overvolting did something? yes but not more than 100 graphic score, incresed voltage is really damn hot, and the reference cooler isn't helping at ALL.
That's it, if someone have some advice to give me to try pushing this 50 more points, it will be well accepted, but most of all i hope this was some usefull information for you guys.
If you want some more info just ask and i'll provide.
