2 years ago I "upgraded" my PC that I used for hard gaming for about 9 years. I basically changed everything besides an SSD, which died some months ago, the GPU (more on that later) and the PSU.

I previously had a GTX 1660 and in December I changed it to a 4060ti and dual monitor. Previously I had some problems with the 1660 but now everything runs really good but I have some BIG stability problems:

  • Random software crash, mainly games that are running fine one second before then freeze; crash.
  • RGB light colour are not synched, 2 RAM sticks have a colour and "theme" the others completely different.
  • Al programs become windowed with black screen inside and then, back to normal. Sometimes one of the windows perishes.

I noticed that this problems occur mainly after the system has been up for a couple of hours.

I had to overclock my RAM manually because the XMP profile was setting them at 3600MHz and for some reason regarding my CPU, that I read online 2 years ago and now don't remember anymore, had to lower the MHz to about 3333.

Now the PSU. I know that some of you may have already thought about a 12+ years PSU is a very bad idea and I know. At the moment I don't have the money and the 4060ti was a gift couldn't just convert it in a PSU.

Do you think that the PSU could be causing al this problems or it may be something else?

  • CPU Ryzen 5 5600
  • RAM Corsair vengeance 8Gb X 4 (32Gb) 3600MHz cl 18
  • GPU Nvidia 4060Ti 6gb
  • M2 500Gb (C:) brand new
  • HDD 2TB
  • M2 250GB

Thank you and if you need additional info I'd be glad to provide them
