I dont know where else to go, I was hoping someone here with knowledge about processors can gie me some assistance. Ive tried asking this in tech support but I get very little help, and a lot of it is stuff like "have you checked your drivers" even after I tell them Im on current drivers. I seem to get lots of info about checking for game updates and whatnot, but the problem seems to be with my CPU. I was hoping here someone could just let me know if Im on the right track
Basically my new i7 14700KF on ASRock Z790-C is acting weird. Im trying to figure out why its crashing on Hearts of Iron 4… my i7 8700k ran the game just fine 1 month ago, i get a new PC with this 14700 and now the temp just goes up and down rapidly every 30 seconds while gaming.. When I try to play Hearts of Iron 4 on speeds 1-4 the game runs OK, I press speed 5, the temp shoots to 100c and game crashes… anyone know why this better processor cant run hearts of iron 4 when my 6 year old processor ran it no problem? Why the temp shoots right up to 100c and crashes?
Ive tried disabling e core, I have tried messing with undervolting but no clue what im doing and do I really need to do this to make my computer work? I have a 240mm AIO that seems to work fine… the RPMs of the pump are over 3000. The tubes are cool to the touch, the temp does spike randomly but also goes form 100c down to 35-45 within seconds when I close a game. The fans get faster when the temp spikes and slow down when the temp drops.
I can play games like dayz, but the temp just spikes, drops, spikes, drops, occasionally it spikes and hits 100c and throttles so the game gets stuttery. The only game that crashed so far has been hearts of iron 4. even though HOI4 ran fine on my crappy old PC
Ill upload a photo of ETU graph. You can also see the frequency drops randomly too.. but the temp just cant stay at a steady temp, its just up down up down non stop. Ive ran avx2 test that passes, althoug it temp throttles the entire time. Ive ran intel disgnostic, windows memory diagnostic, passing all tests. Im outside of the 30 day return window and I dont have much money. Im very frustrated , ive posted about this several places many times nobody knows what the heck is going on.
