I think the thing is that Jeff will mention something and then it is reported on as fact on every news site on the internet. He carries that wait and almost needs a "disclaimer warning" when others don't. He is the one putting in the work and making connections while others just feed off it. Prob worst now with AI pulling this info and making news articles.

Here’s my take on Perfect Dark the first Xbox versions were pure garbage especially the online function which ran like designer lag so I don’t expect anything and don’t care. I’m more interested in what kind of plans Xbox has for all the ABK properties followed by Gears news and the new COD reveal.

Does not have a bachelor's in journalism or a related field such as communications
Does not work for the Gaming industry – not even adjacent
Does not work for a news outlet – or even adjacent.
So, why listen to him at all?

Be careful with the hyperbole when reporting rumors or speculation in the future. Your backpeddaling big time on the new Perfect Dark here and with a few qualifers when you reported on it or brought it up in conversation, you didn't need to do that.
No smoke to Sly Cooper confirmed by Bloomberg. Also that Perfect Dark rough comment was before Crystal Dynamics took over development ….hence old reports lol

The only part of this that doesn't sit right with me is you saying, "the next day I come in and everybody wrote news stories about that." Sure, that's beyond your control, it's not your fault there's a cadre of writers following every word out of your mouth and punching it up as a headline. But also, you then reported on those stories (that were literally citing you) during GMM on Weds, which doesn't seem like an especially responsible thing to do if you're surprised that your loose podcast talk from the day before is accidentally making disproportionate noise. You even made it the title of the episode. That's feels like consciously leaning in and reaffirming what you're presenting here as something you accidentally said in the heat of the moment.

I'm sorry buddy, but timing of Jeff comments about PD being rough are the point. Again, I respect Jeff immensely, if he gets it wrong or needs to clarify he will have guts to say so.
But msft is going through cost cutting and bad press associated with that. We are only 1 month away from June showcase where PD may be revealed.
So yes timing matters because I'm sure Jeff, Tom Warren hears things all the time and the state of a game can be very subjective. For all we know what we see of PD may be well received and the PD devs proud of their effort now will possibly face even more unfair scrutiny.
And finally we don't have a release date or year for PD. It could be early 2026 for all we know. If late 2025 or 2026 a game could look a little rough in early 2024. Again why timing of Jeff report was odd, now if he had solid reporting that the PD reveal itself looked rough a month from showcase that would be relevant imo
