Hi r/overclocking,

I bought some new ddr4 trident z royals the other day only to discover, to my horror, that they were hynix c dies. Would appreciate any info on how I can push these to the max.

  • What I've tested so far

My CPU memory controller simply can't handle any speeds past 1800 mhz when running 1:1 with the system clock. It's the usual WHEAs starting at 1833 mhz and trouble booting past 1900 mhz. And yes, I've tried upping the voltages on the CCD, IOD. It didn't help much.

I currently have the ram downclocked to 3600mhz and tried to tighten up some of the timings to a safe margin according to https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/blob/oc-guide/DDR4%20OC%20Guide.md

I was wondering how I should go from here since from what I've read H16C's are known to be able to do high speeds and voltages, but not so much tight timings. Am I SOL? lol

note: I'm currently in a situation where every failed ram OC needs me to reset BIOS which takes around 10 mins, so I was thinking of just leaving it as is, unless one of you gods had a better idea of what to do
