
Changing the Vring voltage by any amount (from the default 1.05) will cause a boot failure and a BIOS stock reset, including a wipe of all previously saved profiles. Changing the offset by any any amount larger than 0.002 will cause a Windows freeze on startup. Values of 0.001 or 0.002 will cause a random Windows freeze (after anywhere between 5 minutes and an hour), after which any PC crash will no longer display a blue screen, instead any and all crashes will result in a Windows freeze until a BSOD reset is executed. In general while overclocking I have noticed that the uncore ratio is by far the largest factor in system instability.
Curiously enough, after a few back and forths with overclocking, after my latest BIOS reset HWiNFO reports that the ring voltage offset is now set to 0.3 volts, while in BIOS it is still set to default settings. Ever since my system has been almost completely stable after reapplying my overclock settings, save for a single 0x124 WHEA crash in three days.
