hey 🙂

12gb mixed ddr3 ram 1333mhz, amd x4 860k, asrock extreme6+ fm2+, lianli l60.

this is my everyday pc.

when i first got my amd sapphire 550 it had enough performance for hoi4, victoria 3, beamng but i also played seldomly. i tried overclocking it but it would not go even 30mhz on cores at 0,88v stockvoltage, so i let it. this was a year ago.

now that im happier i play more and care about my gaming, i started playing cs2, ghpc, skyrim, etc…my fps were very low but some big stutters every 10seconds were the most annoying thing.
so i first oced my amd x4 860k from 3.7ghz to 4,3ghz at 1,475v, turbo at 4.4 so far. temperatures and noise arent an issue, only at 4,4ghz 1,5v its noisy. at 1,55v it nearly destroyed my windows10 installation…
my fps did not improve but the pc response time became quicker, its much nicer to use.

so i tried the amd adrenalin auto oc. this increased cores to 1190 from 1070 and crucially my fps aswell.

then under manual settings i found a cores cycle percentage slider. i increased it more and more to max +30%, a clock of 1393mhz.

vram was no problem, i just mexed it out to 2000 from 1500mhz.

i needed to increase powerlimit. i started with 10%, was too little so it didnt reach 1393mhz all the time. im at stable 42% now, enough for 1393.

this all was enough fro 94th place . but i had a ace up my sleeve. i read i could unlock an extra 128 cores or 2cu on rx 550. i did, now i have 768 instead of 640!

these oc clocks i reached aswell.

so i became 9th place! 🙂
