Despite Fallout TV success, an Elder Scrolls series seems unlikely

Meh, if we get ES6 nobody would complain about an adaptation

I can’t wait for the 12 hour long, 4 part series where the main character spam crafts iron daggers. That’s the TV content I would show up for.

Can we at least get a lusty Argonian Maid porn adaptation?

  4. Good.
Unless you’re gonna get Sean Bean to play Brother Martin and Patrick Stewart as Uriel Septum in live action, I don’t want it. In fact, even then I don’t want it.

A tv show about elder scrolls sound incredibly boring. I think this is a good thing

Bethesda could probably make a fantastic war drama set in Cyrodil as the Empire defends against the Aldmeri Dominion.

What would a Elder Scroll series be about? Clearing the same looking cave of a hundred of bandits and vampires in daedric armor every episode?

  8. csupihun

Yeah, I was just thinking about it, an Elder Scrolls series would be a much bigger undertaking.

Show any good? I don’t want another gaming series destroyed by tv adaptation. My nostalgia can only take so much

Fallout is a unique and interesting setting.

Elder Scrolls is fairly typical fantasy.

    Massive shame.

Always liked Elder Scrolls more than Fallout. 🙁

Just give me a Bioshock series and I’ll be happy.

  13. Fallout is far more story driven and approachable than ES is. Fallout lore is literally post apocalypse after nuclear war with the pre-war culture being focused around 50’s Americana.

From there you can do just about anything you want as long as it’s outside the established areas.

Good luck trying to make an understandable synopsis of Elder Scrolls lore in the same amount of words. You’d struggle to make that work with one of the daedric princes…

I’m watching it right now and enjoying it…but how are we already calling the Fallout series a success when it hasn’t even been out for 24 hours?

  15. They should just embrace the true draw of Elder Sceolls games and make one where someone molded the fuck out of it. Starts out all serious and then out of nowhere the horses start saying lines from The Room and Thomas the Tank Engine swoops down out of the sky to breathe fire on a lute playing bear.

I still reckon Elder Scrolls should be a show like Love Death & Robots..
Every episode a one shot story from the series’ lore, and each made by different people/studios

The stories in that world are so wildly different and varied, so the medium to tell them should be too

Why can’t we ever just enjoy the new thing before thinking about what’s next?

  18. Notafuzzycat

The way they treated Rings of Power they clearly can’t do Epic stories. Stick to the small stories.

I hate to say it, but it isn’t really unique enough. It would just be a generic medieval fantasy show. Fallout is a unique post apocalypse world with its alternate timeline. It makes for a better adaptation with a wider potential audience.

Success aka initial reactions of the media folks that were PAID for and had their travel and hotel expenses covered.

  21. NeuroPalooza

Honestly I want them to do a full Isekai; have a random 30 year old gamer go to sleep in his studio in NYC and wake up on the iconic Skyrim cart, hilarity ensues.

  22. Rasty_lv

Watched first episode. There are so many little details to games that I was copy of Dicaprio meme with beer. Sound design is too noch.

First episode was all right. I liked it. But for non-fans, I don’t really recommend. It won’t make any sense.

Just FYI, I have 2.8k+ hrs across 3 fallout 4 save files.

  23. Sargonnax

The Elder Scrolls series better have a former adventurer talking about taking an arrow to the knee, or I’m going to be angry.

  24. Travisoco

I dont know why Bethesda refuses to expand their elder scrolls universe outside of games. I read the 2 books that came out around 2010 in high school and they were fantastic. I dont think they have released anything since then.

  25. Faelysis

« success » but the show was barely release a few hour ago… Mist people didn’t even saw it that’s it’s labelled successful….
Some company are paying big to promote it

  26. BoreusSimius

As a world Fallout is way more unique. Elder Scrolls is a generic fantasy when you boil it down to the world. What makes Elder Scrolls unique is more the gameplay side of things.

  27. corvusmohabyn

Could have lynch direct and double down on the oblivion dialog style

  28. KiddingDuke

Wtf do you mean “success” show has been out less than a day….
