Honestly, as a huge fan of Life is Strange and more so my favorite LiS game is Life is Strange: True Colors this is horrifying.

  2. It’s insane how many of these stories keep happening, and how the people behind them keep getting away with no repercussions whatsoever when they should no longer have a career in the industry.

  3. Damn, sounds interesting but I ain’t reading a IGN article.

As if neo nazis are gonna be playing Life is Strange titles.

  5. I remember when playing this game that there’s a certain level where you have to guess how many jellybeans are inside a jar

    The answer was 731

Once I got the answer, I was curious if that was a reference to unit 731

  6. wtf ewwww. I really liked true colors, was one of my favorites of that year. Sucks to read that the production was so troubled. Hopefully they fire the nazi too, but the fact management is seemingly dragging their feet isn’t a great sign. I know using git for art isn’t a great fit, but surely whatever tool they are using should track who made changes, how is it even possible they wouldn’t know who keeps inserting nazi stuff lol?

  7. The 100 thing was probably witch-hunting(though I can see why people would start to get paranoid), but the rest seems pretty concerning.

When your ideology is so shitty you have to hide it in innocuous computer games like a little shitweasel

hmm…written by IGN, the same idiots who said RE5 is racist because it takes places in Africa and has zombies who are/were…..African…

The same idiots who say Stellar Blade causes real life women to be abused because the fictional female character is attractive…

I’m just gonna choose to not believe whatever non-sense they’re talking about. Game journalists are a joke. I feel like these people should be held accountable. like…journalism is dying for a reason

Nazi’s and life is strange is a combination I never thought I’d see.

    For the other lazies;

There was allegedly a really toxic work culture at Deck Nine. Low pay, senior programmers who would yell at everyone, crunch, sexism towards women, etc. We’ve heard this story time and time again. This part is not surprising or hard to believe.

A third of the article is about Zak Garris. The gist is that multiple employees at Deck Nine are alleging that Zak Garriss was being creepy towards the female employees (didn’t know how to take no for an answer, crossed personal boundaries) amongst other questionable things on top of that such as calling BLM a hategroup. He also allegedly told people they were getting hung up on ‘political ideologies’.

To summarise the other staff members’ grievances, he was basically strong-arming, or attempting to strong-arm his views (in the article they claim it was a trans character he wanted removed) and bypass the other writers which he succeeded at doing towards the end of development. He was not fired, he quit voluntarily and is now working for Telltale.

Garriss’s side of the story is that there was a select group of people in the writer’s room that were ‘creatively inflexible, antagonistic toward difference, or less inclined to listen or compromise as a select few of this group’ and that he saved the game from cancellation because it was going so poorly. When he chose to reduce their influence (the aformentioned strong-arming), those writers became antagonistic. He also denies all the claims that he invites women back to his house.

The nazi symbolism is actually just a tiny part of the article. The tldr for that tldr is that it was a reference to a 4chan meme, the number 88, an alleged nazi rune and then the number 18. It was probably an artist trying to sneak in a little joke, but people flagged it as soon as they saw it.

In my opinion, the Garris thing is hard to gauge. Not to both sides an issue, but I can see his point that the people he was fighting back on were probably hard to work with. At the same time though, when you’re dealing with a series that specifically tackles issues or themes that minority groups struggle with, you can’t tell people not to get too hung up on their politics.

Not surprised most here fall for these bullshit stories . Typical Reddit reactionary hive mind

Orrrr, it could be the graphic designer was a millennial and simply put 88 as generic numbers.

Two numbers together is very loose evidence, c’mon.

It’s numerology, and so fucking fake.

  14. Sounds like Square Enix were pretty shitty too tbh

What kind of weirdo conspiracy shit is that? BS
