Hey all,

I’ve been researching extensively how to properly handle tuning the 14900k voltage to minimize heat and maximize performance and was hoping for some clarification from those more knowledgeable on this topic.

It’s paired with an Asus Apex Encore and I’ve gone through the commonly posted guide located at https://www.overclock.net/threads/asus-maximus-z790-and-intel-i9-13900k-14900k-an-overclocking-and-tuning-guide.1801569/

I ended up settling with the following so far:

SVID Behavior – Auto,
LLC – 4,
DC LL – 1.03,
AC LL – 0.3,
Iccmax – 355a,
PL1/2 at 253w

This results in the SVID and VOUT readings in hwinfo being extremely closely matched, while the vcore reading is slightly lower (maybe 1% lower).

During a cinebench run with these settings voltage tends to sit around 1.16-1.17v at about 5.4Ghz.

Now for where I’m looking for assistance:

First, in the guide I referenced the author specifies starting with an LLC of 4. Why not leave this at 3 if not overclocking?

Second, I’ve read that you can confirm your DC LL and LLC are well matched if POUT is close to CPU power (within 15w). Would this be Package Power or IA Cores Power as reported by hwinfo? In my case POUT matches up with IA Cores Power nicely, while package power is a bit higher.

Last, I’ve read that Asus boards will automatically match DC LL with LLC properly if DC LL is left on auto. I haven’t tried this yet, anyone have any input on this?
