Hey there, so I’ve recently taken to benching my GPU (Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 2x Windforce OC), and according to several benchmarks that I’ve done it is underperforming very significantly. In 3DMark it shows it performing in the bottom 10% of GPUs of the same type.

Everything else is performing as expected except the GPU and I’m not sure why, but I have a few ideas but I am unsure how to act on them.

In MSI Afterburner, it shows that whenever the GPU goes under load it very quickly hits the “power limit” (this is displayed as a boolean 1/0), however when it shows that power limit = 1, the draw in watts for the GPU is around 80. This is almost half of the TDP of 150. And that’s before we consider that I’ve increased the power limit to its maximum (111.1% as opposed to 100% default), as well as increasing the available voltage. There should be plenty of power provided by the PSU, so I’m not sure why it doesn’t draw more. The GPU isn’t thermal throttling, either. The highest I’ve ever seen it go was mid 60’s.

Some more information:

I have tried running the GPU at stock settings, underclocked settings and overclocked settings and the results are all roughly the same. In a few benchmarks it sometimes performed slightly **better** when underclocked.
