Speaking of which, how do y’all feel about the Corsair RM1000e? I feel like it’s a good compromise.
oofinator3050
still using the 400w or something gray psu that came with my case, no problems

8700k and A770 here running on 1000w that I’ve had for almost six years now. That’s why I go for 80+ Platinum or Titanium. Just makes for a better build overall.

Am I the only one who saw Fallout 4 sanctuary in this picture ?

The rest of my build is also nice but I definitely started with the power supply and worked up from there.
My house is over 100 y/o though and not very up to date. We only have a handful of 3 prong outlets even. So I went out of my way to get the best UPS I could afford and a reliable power supply just in case any weird surges happen or other electrical issues (which is very common for us), at least my components shouldn’t get fried.

Honestly probably the best part of a PC you could go overkill on. You have basically unlimited room to upgrade and it should literally last you forever. It also means your current components will always get enough power and will never be destroyed due to PSU failure.
The_Pacific_gamer
At least you’re not skimping on the power supply.
DynamicJragon904
Yep, the power supply is the most expensive individual component in my build, apart from the Graphics Card.

The struggle is real

My PC got flatlined twice, the second time my PSU caught actual fire, like flames coming out of it…

This is usually the opposite.

Never cheap out on the psu

tfw I fell scammed into a combo deal of Lianli 850W power supply with computer case, then I had to swap out the PSU for a Corsair one after six months.
BittenHand19
We have the same taste in parts lol
FoxiDaFluffyFemboy

posture_check_71

I have:
Aerocool Cylon 600W Certified 80 PLS RGB
B460M – DS3H LGA 1200
Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4 2×8 = 16GB RAM
Acer SSD M.2 1 TB
PC Case: AeroCool Talon ATX RGB
Intel Core i5 10th gen
GTX 1650 4GB
Yeah, I have little low budget, also, this GPU is just 2 years old now, the last two are a little dissapointed from people who know me, but I love them both, the CPU is literally new.
My first PC had a GTX 960 (passive cooled) and a 1200w PSU. I had no clue what I was doing.

750w for just my 12600k. Haven’t gotten around to getting a GPU. I kind of lost some interest in gaming.

PSUs are always a good investment, pretty sure my PSU has outlived my entire rig, including the case.

Bought a relatively cheap PSU once and even the local household professional computer guy (me) didn’t even had an ounce of thought that the PSU might be the issue so I basically tried to reassemble my PC, trying everything I know to find the culprit.
The next day my savior; the local undergrad with doctorate IT guy, tried helping me out with his magical paperclip method because we had a thought that maybe, just maybe, the big black box below the PC was at fault.
Lo and behold, we tried the paperclip method on his PSU and it worked. We tried it on mine and it didn’t work. We then booted my PC with his PSU. Success!
I ordered a hefty PSU the next day and I became a jolly baby once again.

I’m trying to get mine balanced but good PSUs are so fucking expensive.

Rm850e, gtx 1650 and r5600 my beloved
I bought a cheap power supply once. *Once*.
A great idea, you can upgrade the house later without having to replace the car
(Wrong comparasion but im going by the meme format)
also a water cooler for a 60W CPU
*Me attempting to 360 aio cool a I7 4770, huh?*
this is the only way
me when my motherboard costs more than my cpu
Let’s consider the yard too. As a married man, it is imperative that every new component fits in my old case.
