I’m relatively new to overclocking, so I’m seeking some guidance and advice.

Currently, I am running my CPU at 1.46Vcore, occasionally reaching higher levels under both full 100% loads and lighter workloads. During single-core tasks, I’ve observed occasional Vcore spikes up to 1.501V while boosting to 6.1GHz. My CPU’s primary throttle point doesn’t seem to be power or temperature, instead it’s often EDP/Current throttling.

I’ve encountered mixed opinions from various community members, prompting me to seek clarity. Upon reviewing the CPU’s datasheet directly from the Intel website, I found an officially supported specification for the “S/S Refresh Processor Line (150W) 8P+16E Core Extreme Config.” I’ve configured all of my limits in the BIOS according to this specification.

My reasoning is that since I’m within the officially stated maximum limits, I shouldn’t be causing degradation to the CPU. Degradation, in my understanding, should only occur if I surpass the power limit, thermal limit, or current limit of the chip.

Am I correct in my understanding? If not, I’d appreciate clarification and insights from the community.
