in the process of overclocking my 14700k
or atleast squeeze some stable performance out of it.
i was going to follow this guide here : [MSI Z690/Z790 OC guide](https://www.overclock.net/threads/quick-easy-msi-z690-z790-cpu-overclocking-guide-beginner-friendly.1802080/)
it eventually mentioned. ” *The Ring (cache) clock tends to be general knowledge, but if you can’t find your chip’s base value, just assume it is 4.00 GHz for now.* ”
but i cant seem to figure out what the ring (cache) clock is for my CPU or what the ring/cache clock is?
is the ring(cache) clock just the CPU’s non boosted freq?
The only reference i can find to “base values” are this :
\`”Performance-core Base Frequency
3.4 GHz
Efficient-core Base Frequency
2.5 GHz”
So is that the ring(cache) clock or is it something else?
**PT 2**
What would be a decent ” *Long Duration Power Limit (W)* ” by default im at 288watts using the “Tower air cooler” setting
(i am on a kraken z73 AIO)
Thanks for the help/clarfication in advance. I haven’t overclocked anything in quite some time.
