When I was recently looking through my game collection, I found a bunch of these weird and mostly forgotten DS games. I don’t remember a ton about most of these, but I figured I’d do a general run-through of what I do know.
Firstly, there’s Ben 10: Alien Force which was one of my favorites on the DS. It was one of several basic beat ’em up games based on licensed material on the DS, with this one allowing you to switch between several of Ben’s alien forms at will, including Swampfire, Echo Echo, Humungosaur, and Goop.
Second was Transformers Autobots which was a game I bought while trying to track down a copy of a very different Transformers game that I lost. To the best of my memory, it was sort of a boring arcade shooter where your Autobot runs around and you shoot stuff.
Third is the Toy Story 3 game. All I remember about this one was a mission I really liked where you have to use the classroom environment to hide and sneak past the crazy-ass kindergarteners.
Next is the Big Hero 6 game. Another beat ’em up that allowed you to play as all six members of the team from the movie. Nothing too special, but I remember this one being significantly harder than the Ben 10 one.
Next I had the Brave game. I have no idea where I got this one given that I haven’t even watched the movie, but I probably found it lying around at school or church or something.
Finally, we have the random row. I’m fairly certain that Brain Games came with the DS and I have no idea where I got Smart Boy’s Game Room or Pirates, nor can I find much info about them online.

I dont think Brainage is obscure but its interesting in that its basically what they have people do for cognitive therapy. One of my favorite games was Electroplankton. I dont know if its obscure, but it was relaxing to mess around with.
I played that Ben 10 one, never completed sadly
Most of these definitely fall into “Huh, didn’t know they adapted it into a DS game” territory. Mainly because I don’t know the timeline for those properties as they relate to the DS’ life cycle. Not that I’m at all surprised that they were adapted.
That’s cool, I had the psp of the Ben 10 game I think. It’s funny now but I don’t remember having too much fun with it
I truly can’t recognize satire anymore.
HOLY FUCK the wave of nostalgia that just smacked me in the face
Thanks for making me feel old as shit.
Saw brain age and immediately thought of Scott the woz saying ‘you do math like a bitch’
Anyone ever play eye training?
Ben 10 Alien force still my favorite game until now
i think i played brave?
idk if it’s considered obscure but another i remember is that owls of gahoole game
there was also some 2d hulk game
and i think avatar (the blue people one)
Wasted a lot of time trying to help the autobots get the all spark by repeatedly playing poorly designed mini games and uploading the scores to very unreliable servers.
The Transformers DS game was amazing, though the Decepticon version is, in my opinion, better in terms of storyline.
I mean licensed games were huge on the DS, I don’t think any of those are weird or obscure. I had a lot of those myself lol.
The Transformer games were pretty fun, actually. I liked that they had both Autobot and Decepticon versions. Playing as the bad guys was a ton of fun as a kid haha
Transformers DS 2007 remains the best transformers DS game ever. The story and voice acting were phenomenal, and the fact that it was truly open world was just chefs kiss. Enjoyed messing with the online faction war for exclusive characters/forms.
Yoooo I have the Toy Story one! I remember that level very well, as well as a tower defense one I think?
How dare you call toy story 3 the game weird
I have Toy Story 3 on the wii for some reason
There is nothing weird or obscure about these games
