Hey all, I’ve been tinkering a bit with settings on my Asus TUF Z790 Pro Wifi and using Loadline Calibration from [a guide on ocn](https://www.overclock.net/threads/asus-maximus-z790-extreme-and-intel-i9-13900k-a-tuning-guide-for-beginners.1801569/), I found what’s below:
*LLC1: 1.75 milliohms*
*LLC2: 1.46 milliohms*
*LLC3: 1.1 milliohms*
*LLC4: 0.98 milliohms* \*\*\*(I am on this LLC)\*\*\*
*LLC5: 0.73 milliohms*
*LLC6: 0.49 milliohms*
*LLC7: 0.24 milliohms*
*LC8: 0.01 milliohms*
Initially, I went by 1.02 for DC loadline because that’s what was written elsewhere in the guide, but with that and 0.20 AC loadline, I couldn’t pass 1 run of Cinebench R23. In that same guide, the author notes:
“*The DC\_LL may need some adjustment to make VID match VCore. In my system, using LLC#4, this number is 1.02. You can use 0.98, with a tolerance of +/- 5%, depending on your motherboard.”*
We both have asus boards and he noted that the LLC impedance levels are the same for asus boards, but having major stability problems, I went ahead and put in 0.98 DC\_loadline which resulted in passing 1 run! Here’s the problem: it was still unstable beyond 1 run.
So i changed 2 things (should have done 1 at a time): I upped AC\_loadline to 0.25 and the DC\_loadline to AUTO because he notes this:
\*”\****And here I have very good news for you !!!!Asus linked the LLC impedance to DC\_LL automatically in the Z790.So when you set a LLC#, if you let the DC\_LL in AUTO the BIOS will adjust it for you !!!*** *”*
So with that, I ran cinebench and it passed several runs, ran a few different games (Destiny 2, MW3, Teardown) and works fine with CPU package temps pretty never hitting 90C.
So i’m wondering, should I leave my DC\_loadline to AUTO, assuming it will auto match my LLC? It seems my chip is trash because I can’t run AC\_loadline at 0.20 and be stable at all but my Vcore and VID’s look to be matching up under load (almost perfectly). My 14900K is an SP97 with the P-cores being a tad over 100 and E-cores being a tad under.
Is this it for me? I’m thinking I just didn’t win the lottery here.
