Resident Evil 4: Remake is GOTY 2023
I hope Star Ocean gets some love
Surprise to see you guys rank Hi Fi Rush and Spider-man so low but to each their own. Fastening list for sure with some great games.
Of course they put starfield ahead of pretty much every other Nintendo and Sony exclusive. NOT SURPRISED.
Look, the game's good but it's not better than most of this list. I'm not even convinced it's worthy of a top 20 spot. Furthermore the fact that Mario Bros wonder and Spider-Man are so far down the list (Both below Starfield) is pretty damning. I guess subjective opinions and all but I can ALWAYS count on scott to artificially inflate the value of Xbox. Always.

So a DLC like Mirage gets a spot but a complete game like Dead Space Remake doesn't, neither did Octopath Traveler 2.
Why people keep saying 2023 was a good year for gaming? There was just Hi-Fi, Dredge, Alan Wake 2 and Baldurs Gate 3. The rest is "meh". Celebrating the death of creativity with glorifying "more of the same" games and remakes as good games just shows the sick state of gaming in these days. Maybe even Starfield because of the realistic setting and believable presentation of early phase of colonising the universe but it is basically a Fallout 4 so… probably not. It does not fit into the "more of the same" category as Zelda, Spider-man or Phantom Liberty but it is right behind the borders of this box.

Listen guys, I'm a huge Bethesda fan and have been playing Skyrim on and off since 2011 pretty much, but how much did Bethesda pay you for putting Starfield above Final Fantasy 16.

Starefield is #7?!?!? Maybe 15 years ago, but not in 2023. There is a reason why the game has failed to score any games awards….or even barely get nominated for them.
