We are going all the way back to 1992. This is when Wolfenstein 3D: Spear of Destiny was released. This is what it was like for my first 10 minutes of play.

If you ever wanted to quickly find out how many creature comfort modern FPS gamers enjoy today, one only needs to try an FPS game from way back in the day. Getting hit by an enemy from a different angle? It’s up to you to figure it out. Love the use of maps? Break out the pencil and paper.

On the plus side, though, in this game, you can save anywhere you like. It’s surprising how infrequent that feature is in more modern FPS.

At any rate, despite playing the original Wolfenstein 3D, I didn’t play this particular expansion/sequel/prequel/additional game. Today, I’m changing that by finally getting around to playing this game.

For those who haven’t played this game, what did you think of what you saw? Does the old style represent an interesting new challenge to you or is this game too old for your taste?

For those who have played other games in this franchise, what did you think of this game? Does this look familiar and would be interesting to play or would you rather stick to more modern games?

For those who have played this game, is this a nice addition to the original Wolfenstein 3D game or is it just more of the same to you? Let us know in the comments below!
