Hey up all,

Firstly, apologies for the fairly long post, but was wondering if someone can help point me in the right direction to helping with DDR5 OC or possibly UC / shed some light on the my issue below:

Background:
Built my first PC 6 months ago so this is all of my worldly experience after stumbling across r/sffpc, I am a fairly good researcher and had no issues putting together my 11L mini ITX Z690, i5 13600k, 7900xtx build.

In this time I then stumbled on this group and learnt to oc/uv my cpu to 53P & 43E with VF curve ranging from -300 to minus -75 and run at 90 degrees with a score of just shy of 25k in Cinebench.

Unfortunately I continued stumbling and this time landed in the r/watercooling and now I am 95% parts gathered for a custom loop sff build (new case).

One of the parts I needed to get was some low profile DDR5 and opted for [2x16gb Teamgroup T-Create expert 7200 cl34](https://www.teamgroupinc.com/en/product-detail/memory/T-CREATE/expert-u-dimm-ddr5-black/expert-u-dimm-ddr5-black-CTCED532G7200HC34ADC01/) which i believe is A-die. (I was aware this is not supported on the Z690 board), but it has had a bios update to support faster RAM so It was a hope, but not crucial as It will be good for my next board upgrade regardless.

Issue:
I decided to use the new case whilst waiting for the parts to arrive and one of the early ones to arrive was the DDR5 ram.

I updated the [Asrock Z690 itx/tb4 boards to the latest 17.01 bios](https://pg.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Z690%20Phantom%20Gaming-ITXTB4/index.asp#BIOS), (I have just noticed they have released another bios update 17.02 which further improves memory compatibility, so this post might be a waste, but I am not in my home country at the moment to check it haha). dropped in the Ram and just tried it with the the one XMP profile it came with. It did actually boot on first boot up, but then afterwards it would not, I am not able to get it bootable until 6600 (occasionally 6800) but really only stable at 6400 freq. Again this was sort of expected.

And now I come to you guys, as I have watched YT vids, posts, websites as I still cannot fathom what the best starting point would be.

I have seen people OC DDR5 from 6k freq to 7200+ on z690 mdie ram so I am pretty sure I must be able to get more out of my A Die than 6400.

Questions I have:

* Because I have OC’d / UV’d the CPU will this have an impact on stability of the RAM in terms of achieving a higher frequency?
* Because I am going to a custom loop which can handle more power, I am thinking of picking up the 14700k, does anyone know if this has a better MC than the 13th gen or if a 700k uses a better MC than a 600k?
* Am I best OC’ing the RAM whilst on a base CPU config and then OC/UV the CPU?
* ASRock seem to have their own naming conventions compared to the likes of ASUS, MSI etc, does anyone know of YT OCer that uses an Asrock board because some of the settings used in YT are not in the ASrock bios or they are but under a different name?
* Should I start at the advertised 7200 freq and play around with the voltages or start at the bootable 6400 freq?
* Key voltages gems to be aware of and I need to research
* Anything else that will help me on my journey?

Sorry for such a long post, but any insight is much appreciated!
