Fell off wall mount and joystick popped out. Is this fixable without buying a new controller or having to order parts online?

There is NOT a switch on the back to open it.

  1. you completely make a new controller better than that pathetic waste of electricity

Match up the hole and push it back in gently, you can bend any number of pieces in there which will skew the stick. My joystick has a hard plastic shell around the stick so I would have to take it apart to insert it through the opening properly.

This dismemberment needs to be marked nsfw

I was like… bro… you just push it back on. But now i see the problem haha. Its sort of a bitch to take apart so if youre interested in a custom controller at all now is the time!

Buy $12 warranty and just go get a new controller every few months and spend a next $12 on another warranty

Idk but I love that color scheme

  7. Google and check some videos online.
Also, for the future, don’t wall mount your controllers!

For some godmdamned reason, none of these controllers across all platforms come with joysticks that just simply push back in.

Nope, gotta cut the damn thing open disassemble the whole fucking controller and its gotta be as difficult as humanly possible.

    Ask me how I know.

You need to dissassemble the whole controller, unfortunately. Watch a tutorial. It isn’t nearly as hard as disassembling a ps4 controller.

I know this doesn’t help you but just in case anyone else is also dying of curiosity…. What game were you playing when you ripped that clean out of there like that??? 😂

They’re just held together with screws, open it and place the plastic thumbpiece back on

Nobody has given you a full answer yet, so here you go. You’re gonna need a small screwdriver set and a spudger. Remove screws from the back of the controller and wiggle the spudger between the shell pieces until it pops loose. Usually do it on one side, then the other side. Don’t expect it to just come open all at once.

Once you have the shell open, you’re gonna find more screws. Find which ones attach the board to the shell, remove them, and then you can put your stick back on. Now do everything you just did, but backwards.

Lube it up and ease it in there inch by inch, like a gentleman.

Squeeze the base of the joystick and you should be able to push it back into the hole, make sure you do it in the right direction, don’t wanna damage the sensor. This method will work for most controllers, but you risk damaging plastic.

However, the ps5 dualsense is entirely user friendly and easy to tear down, that black part the joystick goes under literally just pops out if you have plastic prying tools

Imo way more people NEED to know basic electronic repair/maintenance going forward into the future.

Posting on Reddit for advice is a great first step, but even thinking about buying an entire new device for a fix that is so trivial is lunacy imo.

An extremely basic electronic toolkit (plastic picks, small Philips screwdriver, plastic twezers etc.) is more then enough to open up and diagnose literally 90% of modern electronics

Take off front face and and place it back on. Close the controller. May have to take off the triggers first and unscrew the screws under them next

Remove the shell put it back in, mabye a replacement, then stop playing mario party 64 on your right stick

If you still have warranty you probably can just reach out. Other than that it seems like a fix where you can just pop it back in but yeah check tutorials first and other peoples recommendation.

  19. Imagine_TryingYT

You should def try and fix it but I also always recommend buying the pro controller if you can afford it.

    Its def worth the money

These are such trash controllers. I’ve had my ps5 since launch, and I’m on my third controller due to drift.
