so, I am completely new to undervolting. have never done it in my life before yesterday.

my system is a 5900x/3080 Ti. yesterday, I undervolted the 5900x using PBO2, it bluescreened at -30 and -25 on all cores but was stable at -20. (yes, I know that it’s better to optimize that by individual core, but… baby steps)

today I tried a GPU undervolt. stock, it peaks at 1.081V, 2010MHz. I got it down to 0.950V stable, but with not too much appreciable improvement in scores or temps. when I tried it at 0.925V, my Graphics score in Time Spy went from ~19700 to ~20100, but the CPU score was 0 although the program didn’t crash.

why would this be? I would have thought that if the CPU was stable before, undervolting the GPU wouldn’t change anything.

my main theory is that I’m an idiot who’s using Afterburner wrong. I am following what seems to be the prevailing wisdom to find the intersection of the max voltage/clock speed, pick a slightly lower voltage, drag it up to max clock speed, and test for stability. does this look right? thanks for the help and apologies for the stupid beginner questions
