I’m at a complete loss here, I’ve been trying to figure this out for days, anyways here are my specs
Ryzen 2600x (soon to be upgraded if this can be fixed)
B450 aorus m
Asus Dual Rx6700xt
4×8 Oloy Warhawk 3200 mhz (overclocked to 3333)
500 gb m.2 nvme wd blue
4 tb wd blue hdd
EVGA BQ 700 Watt PSU
I just got this 6700 xt, used off of ebay. I was using a gtx 1070 ti beforehand, with absolutely no issue, I started playing games and was stuttering like crazy from games like cs2 all the way to persona 5, I tested a lot of games and most did stutter and lock up even on the menus, figured out that stressing my CPU and GPU together causes it but them alone doesn’t.
Yes I used ddu to wipe old drivers before install
Things I’ve tried –
-Reseating GPU
-Resetting CMOS
-Both bios on GPU
-Daisy chain and non daisy chain pcie power connectors
-Removing overclocks and under bolts
-Removing cable extensions
-Ddu multiple times and reinstall drivers
-Reinstalling windows
-Turning off freesync
-Turning off and on all of amd’s Radeon game settings
-Unplugging second monitor
-Setting min frequency to -100 of max in adrenalin
-Checking temps they are perfectly fine
-Forcing Pcie gen 3 (motherboard and CPU doesn’t support gen 4 and SAM)
I started thinking it was my psu, so I cut my 6700xt’s power draw and undervolted it to where it was just drawing 90 watts max in heaven benchmark, it was a consistent 70 fps before I opened up cinebench and bam it was back again, my 1070 ti drew 170 watts or so under full load with it’s overclock, I’ve ran cinebench and heaven together before with no issue in this same system, 0 stutters with my 1070 ti. While it’s stuttering GPU usage, power draw, and frequency are all dropping sometimes to 0, but my CPU still is pulling what it normally pulls which is 120 watts with it’s undervolt
I’m at a loss on what to do next, any help would be appreciated, I have 25 or so days before my return window closes, but I’d rather not return it unless necessary
