TLDR: 1-1 Recreation of Origins Staves.

6 years ago, in late 2017 I began work on recreating the staves from Origins. It was an outlet for me as I had begun to lose my grandfather. I used it as a test of all he had taught me as he inspired my passion to create. He never got to see a finished version, though I did print a completed staff by early 2018. I’m now revisiting the project and intend to complete it. The print here will likely not be the final parts I use and are more of a text for now. I’ll hopefully post once it’s finally completed.

I intend to make it fully modular following my original design. Meaning heads and crystal internals can be swapped on and in the main body as all staves use the same body minus their crystals and heads. I also plan to recreate certain aspects of the firing animation, I.e the revolving cylinder just above the trigger mechanism, and the counter rotating cylinder with pistons just below the head of the staff. I also plan to add lights to the project and possibly sound effects but we’ll see. Hopefully I can make the community proud as I’d hope my grandfather would be.

Note, I am aware there is already a model online for purchase from Apropalypse_creations. However, seeing as I have hundreds of hours in my current model and I am making it as accurate as humany possible, I will not be using this as a base. I intend to be as absolutely 1-1 with the games as possible, in saying that you may hind that there are details that differ between BO2 and BO3. In these situations I will take some creative liberties to use whatever version is most aesthetically pleasing, or provides the most value to the model. I see this hybrid approach as the most faithful to the original vision as I see some details were not always conveyed likely due to hardware limitations.

(Apologies for the repost, I felt I wanted to add more context to the project.)
