#Why I want Extinction in MWIII

I would prefer MWIII have Extinction, instead of another Zombies mode. Obviously Zombies is the most reliable side-mode in the history of Call of Duty, but it’s kind of boring having every iteration of a PvE mode (excluding DMZ) be Zombies.

I can think of a thousand ways they can improve on and expand the Extinction formula, and in turn make a new, refreshing take on Zombies/PvE.
And it’s tenfold better than trying to make Outbreak work, I liked Outbreak in Cold War. But it’s still not as enjoyable as round-based.

#Why it can’t happen..

So the obvious answer would be, why would they risk underselling with a niche side-mode when they can guarantee sales by making another Zombies? But there’s actually a lore reason as to why Extinction can no longer happen in Call of Duty. In Black Ops 4. Nikolai destoryed the entire multiverse, and made one “collective” timeline. Where the Modern Warfare story is canon, the Black Ops story is canon, Zombies are canon all in one Universe.

And by the looks of it, Activision are very reluctant to stray away from this formula. And plan to make every game from MW2019 onward, take place all in one universe.

So there’s simply no room for Extinction to happen. Extinction is.. as the name implies, an extinction event, unless it’s set in a far, far.. really far future, where they have enough room to sell Modern Warfares for decades. There’s just no chance Extinction will ever come back.
