Zeta and Raine are on the run, trying to evade the corporation’s heavily armed security teams. They sprint through the streets of Aetherion, dodging bullets and weaving through crowds of people.
“I told you we should have left when we had the chance,” Raine gasps out between breaths.
“We had to get the data,” Zeta replies, her eyes scanning the alleys for any possible escape routes.
They turn a corner and find themselves face-to-face with a squad of armored soldiers, their weapons trained on the two hackers.
“Freeze!” the leader of the squad barks out. “You are under arrest for corporate espionage and theft of intellectual property.”
Zeta and Raine exchange a quick glance, then simultaneously reach for their weapons. The next few seconds are a blur of gunfire and chaos as they exchange fire with the soldiers.
Finally, Zeta and Raine manage to take down the last of their attackers. They quickly gather their gear and move on, knowing that they can’t stay in one place for too long.
“We need to find a way out of the city,” Zeta says, her mind already racing through possible escape routes. “There’s no way we can take on the entire corporation.”
Raine nods, her expression grim. “I have a contact in the black market. He might be able to help us get off-planet.”
Zeta nods back, determination in her eyes. “Let’s go. We can’t stop now.”
Together, they head deeper into the heart of Aetherion, the weight of their actions heavy on their shoulders. They know that they have become major players in a dangerous game, and that the stakes have never been higher.
