I've been building a CS2 coaching tool, which means I've spent an unreasonable amount of time going through demos. The thing that surprised me is how rarely the losing moment is mechanical. Three patterns come up constantly, across every rank I've looked at:
Re-peeking the same angle too fast. You lose a duel, and a moment later you swing the identical pixel. The person who just killed your teammate hasn't moved and is still holding it. This one costs nothing to fix, and fixing it is worth more than a week of aim training.
Duelling outside trade distance. If your nearest teammate can't punish whoever kills you, a 5v5 quietly turns into five 1v1s. A lot of "we just got picked apart" rounds are only this.
Rotating on the first sound. Fakes work because the rotate is reflexive. The players who climb fastest tend to wait one beat for a second confirming cue before committing.
None of this is secret knowledge — it's all sitting in your own demos. The actual problem is that reviewing demos is miserable and almost nobody does it, so the feedback arrives twenty minutes after the mistake, when you've already stopped caring.
That's the thing I've been trying to fix: getting feedback to arrive during the round instead of after it. The tool is called Game Demon. It reads match state and says something in freezetime, after deaths, and on positioning.

- It costs money. One full coaching cycle is free with no card — a live-coached match, its review, and a Film Room session. After that it's $14.99 one-time for the base tier, or $99/year for unlimited. Refund is 14 days or 2 hours played, self-serve, no support ticket.
- It's still rough in places. There's a public known-issues page and a daily changelog. I'd rather you read those before buying than after.
- Windows 10/11 only, no Mac or Linux. CS2 is the build that actually works.
