The acquisition was announced today, with KitBash positioning the move as an opportunity to build a broader ecosystem supporting artists throughout the creative process.
ArtStation and Sketchfab have spent the past five years under Epic Games, but their new home already has significant ties to the 3D art and content creation industries. KitBash3D provides extensive libraries of production-ready 3D assets and environments, while Greyscalegorilla specializes in materials, plugins, training, and other tools for 3D artists and motion designers.
As of the time of this writing, Epic Games is still mentioned in the footer of the ArtStation website.
