Hi everyone,

I'm currently tuning a Ryzen 7 9850X3D on an ASUS ROG Strix B850-G Gaming WiFi with 2x16GB Hynix A-die, specifically aiming for the lowest possible AIDA64 memory latency.

On my previous ASRock B850I Lightning WiFi, I managed to get down to 59.7ns at DDR5-6000.

I switched to the ASUS because the ASRock was giving me PCIe lane errors and crashes with my RTX 5070 at x16. Gen4 x8 worked, but x16 didn't. The ASUS is now running the same hardware at Gen5 x16 without those errors, so I'm rebuilding and hopefully improving my low-latency setup on the ASUS.

What I've already tested / am using:

  • DDR5-6000, UCLK=MCLK 1:1
  • Tight Hynix A-die timings (ZenTimings screenshot attached)
  • GDM Disabled
  • Command Rate 1T
  • FCLK tuning
  • SMT on and off, ( about the same ns)
  • Swap APU → Enabled — this was worth roughly 3ns lower latency
  • Nitro settings tested — 1/2/1 actually increased latency for me
  • PBO / Curve Optimizer tuning
  • Memory training settings tested

On the ASUS I'm currently looking into Core Tunings Configuration for Gaming (Auto / Legacy / Level 1 / Level 2). I've read that Legacy can give lower AIDA64 memory latency, even if Level 2 may be preferable for actual gaming performance.

For this experiment, my priority is specifically the lowest possible AIDA64 latency.

At this point I'm mainly looking for less obvious ASUS/AM5 BIOS tweaks rather than basic EXPO or primary timing advice. Swap APU made a surprisingly large difference (~3ns), so I'm especially interested in other settings like that which aren't immediately obvious.

I'll attach my ZenTimings and AIDA64 screenshots for reference.

Current best: 59.7ns @ DDR5-6000.

Does anyone know any ASUS-specific settings, hidden latency tweaks, secondary/tertiary timings, voltages, or other changes that could help me push this into the 58ns range or lower?
