This fall will be one of the biggest times for gaming in a long time. With the release of “Grand Theft Auto VI” in November, many gaming studios have moved their games earlier, creating a hectic few months in the industry.

Starting in August, the first big release is “Beast of Reincarnation,” launching Aug. 4. This is the newest game from “Pokemon” developers Game Freak, and will feature a mix of real-time combat and turn-based combat revolving around a lone warrior and their dog. This will be Game Freak’s first game outside of the “Pokemon” series, and I am excited to see how they pull it off.

There is also “Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls,” a new fighting game from Arc System Works, the creators of “Guilty Gear Strive.” While I am not one for fighting games, Arc System Works makes some of the most beloved in the genre, so it will be a big release for that crowd of gamers.

One of the last big games for August is “Star Wars Zero Company.” This is a turn-based strategy game set in the “Star Wars” universe where you control a group of troopers. Developed by Bit Reactor with help from Electronic Arts, it is cool to see the “Star Wars” games go into a few different genres.

September is when nearly every game comes out, however.

Starting the month with “Blood of the Dawnwalker” coming out Sept. 3. This is from ex-developers who worked on “The Witcher 3”, who formed a new studio called Rebel Wolves, and it is the company’s first game. The game focuses on a vampire, where you must carefully choose your quests as you only have a certain amount of time to save your family.

Another game is “Onimusha: Way of the Sword,” which comes out Sept. 4. This game is developed by Capcom, who are bringing back the franchise since the last game in 2006. Capcom has had a killer year so far, with two huge hits in “Resident Evil: Requiem” and “Pragmata,” and looks to continue their hot streak with “Onimusha: Way of the Sword.” The game focuses on samurai Miyamoto Musashi as he fights creatures from the underworld.

Then there is “Marvel’s Wolverine,” which releases on Sept. 15. Developed by Insomniac Games, this takes place in their “Spider-Man” universe, but will focus on Wolverine and a small group of mutants who make up “Team X” to rescue mutants.

The last big game of September is “Control Resonant” which releases on Sept. 22. This is a sequel to “Control,” and is developed by Remedy Entertainment. “Control Resonant” will continue the story of the first “Control,” while also building on the set-up from “Alan Wake II.” Remedy Entertainment makes some of the most cinematic and well-written games ever made, so this is definitely one to look out for.

Obviously, with so much coming out in the next two months, it clears almost all of November for one of the biggest games ever made, “Grand Theft Auto VI.”
