PHILWEB CORP. and Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc. have launched NWR Play, an online gaming platform supporting Newport World Resorts’ expansion into the regulated online gaming market.
NWR Play runs on PhilWeb’s Online Gaming Platform (OGP), which integrates gaming content, cloud-based infrastructure, platform operations, customer support, and regulatory compliance tools into a single operating environment.
PhilWeb said the platform also incorporates an artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled technology layer designed to support real-time operational monitoring, risk management, regulatory compliance, fraud detection, customer service, and platform performance.
“Backed by our recent strategic capitalization, our expanded AI capabilities allow us to deliver a highly secure, data-driven platform that perfectly aligns with the premium standards of the Newport World Resorts brand,” PhilWeb President Brian Ng said in a statement on Friday.
The rollout is part of Newport World Resorts’ digital transformation strategy, complementing its land-based gaming operations with an online platform.
“This launch marks a key milestone in Newport World Resorts’ digital expansion, bringing our reputable gaming experience to more Filipinos through NWR Play. Complementing our land-based operations, NWR Play delivers a broader, secure and responsible online gaming platform to the market,” Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Nilo Thaddeus Rodriguez said.
NWR Play joins PhilWeb’s roster of regulated gaming partners, which includes Okada Manila, Hann Casino Resort, NUSTAR Resort and Casino, FBM Philippines, and PT Gaming.
The platform will offer gaming content from Pragmatic Play under PhilWeb’s exclusive nationwide partnership with the iGaming software provider.
The launch follows PhilWeb’s recent P2-billion strategic investment, which the company said will fund its AI technology roadmap. The investment also coincided with the appointment of businessman Lance Y. Gokongwei to the company’s board of directors. — Alexandria Grace C. Magno
