NOTE: I'M IN ITALY and the laptop is purchased directly from Lenovo
Hi everyone, I wanted to share a massive warranty nightmare I am currently experiencing with Lenovo support regarding their newest premium lineup.
In November 2025, I purchased a custom-configured Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 10 for 1773 Euros. Just for context on how crazy things are, if you try to spec this exact same machine on their official site today, the price has skyrocketed to over 3700 Euros.
My unit features the premium 16-inch glossy OLED display. A few weeks ago, a very distinct bubble formed at the very top of the screen, right underneath the webcam plastic bezel. Because this is a glossy OLED display, the front is a continuous, solid sheet of glass utilizing optical bonding. The outer glass layer is completely pristine, with absolutely no cracks, scratches, dents, or signs of external pressure. The pixels underneath work perfectly fine and the image is not distorted at all.
Technically, this is an undeniable internal manufacturing defect, specifically a failure of the optical bonding adhesive between the glass and the OLED matrix (thermal delamination), or localized mechanical stress from an overtightened webcam bezel assembly during manufacturing.
Despite the machine being nearly brand new and fully under the standard legal warranty, Lenovo support immediately denied my claim based purely on the photographs I provided. Without any physical inspection, they claimed the damage was user-induced, stated it was not covered, and tried to push me toward a third-party repair center for a paid screen replacement, basically accusing me of breaking it.
I posted a complaint on the official Lenovo Legion community forum, where a regional manager acknowledged the issue and tried to assist with an escalation, but the official tech support channels continue to completely stonewall me, blaming me for the defect.
I have already automated a firm legal reply through my lawyer and reached out to media outlets like Gamers Nexus, Hardware Unboxed, and Jarrod Tech to flag this. It appears Lenovo is actively avoiding the high costs of replacing these new Gen 10 OLED panels by automatically blaming customers for physical damage that clearly does not exist.
I have attached the pictures of the display failure for you to judge.
EDIT: To everyone telling me to take legal action: I will fucking sue them to the ends of the earth to make them spit out the warranty they are illegally denying me. My brother is a lawyer, my wife is a lawyer. I have the resources, the backing, and the determination to rip them to shreds in court.
I am not backing down. What makes me absolutely furious is thinking about all the people who don’t have this kind of support, these resources, or this luck, and who were unjustly screwed over and abandoned by Lenovo because they couldn't afford to fight back. I am fighting this till the end, not just for my machine, but to show them they can't keep getting away with this playbook.
