Much has been said about the amazing characters of the original Call of duty MW series. Although I played the games years ago this line of thought got me thinking- are they actually well written?
So let's put this to a test.
Describe the following CoD characters without saying what the character looks like, whats his job (e.g. a soldier, etc), whats the role of the character in game (like he's a villain) and describe him like youre describing them to someone who hasn't played the games themselves. I know the characters are usually different in the remakes so lets focus on the original series.
I’ll give some examples from other games where the main gameplay element is to shoot at enemies.

She's a proactive, strong willed person who is always looking for a solution no matter how hopeless the situation seems, she also acts as an emotional support to others but at the same time you get the feeling that she's just putting on a brave face to keep the morale of the group up.
Nolan Stross from Dead Space 2 https://deadspace.fandom.com/wiki/Nolan_Stross
He is a madman, constantly struggling to make out reality from his own demons. He wants to escape them and thus is in denial about things that are happening around him, often it seems like he could be dangerous to himself or others around him. He is also burdened by guilt about the past. Despite all this he tries to get help to fix his situation but as he is unable to manage on his own he has to rely on other people to get what he wants.
So the main characters that come to mind from the original series are Captain Price, Nikolai, Captain Macmillan, Gaz, Griggs, Imran Zakhaev, Ghost, General Shepherd, Soap and Yuri.
I tried to write the character paragraphs myself, but I couldnt write anything worth reading. All I could come up with was that the good guys are stoics who arent afraid to get their hands dirty and the villains are very evil. So maybe you guys could give it a try.
