Skybound Entertainment is continuing to rack up wins with the recent release of Invincible VS. The game is both another successful adaptation of co-founder Robert Kirkman’s superhero comic Invincible and a successful debut for in-house game studio Quarter Up. Today’s competitive video game market means even games based on popular franchises need to fight tooth and nail for their success, and deciding to spin up an in-house game development studio meant the storied entertainment company was taking on a ton of risk.

So why did all that risk pay off?
