Xbox Creates New 'Exclusive' Label For Eligible Games On Console

Following the announcement that Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution would be console exclusives, various Team Xbox members have been talking about exclusivity in recent days, insisting that it’s definitely here to stay.

Here’s another bit of evidence – they’ve just added a new “exclusive” label to the Xbox dashboard, and it’ll likely appear elsewhere too. Various Xbox users are spotting this today on an ad for Gears of War: E-Day, with the label simply stating the word “exclusive” next to a symbol that looks very much like an Xbox Series X console.

We haven’t come across it ourselves just yet, but a few people definitely have:

Now, just to clear up any potential confusion here – the symbol refers to the game being an Xbox console exclusive, and not that it’s only launching on Series X instead of Series S. We’re already seeing a few people questioning this online, which perhaps suggests the label needs another tweak to at least reference the Series S too.

We’ll probably get used to seeing this in a few places as Xbox seeks to push its exclusivity plans for Gears, Clockwork and other games in the future, and perhaps it might even be added to box art as well.

Have you come across it yet? Liking the design? Let us know down in the comments section below.
