EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The Eastwood Troopers and El Dorado Aztecs won the Region 19 Girls’ Flag Football Championships back in May.
Eastwood won the Texans region title, and El Dorado won the Cowboys title.
This booked their tickets to the inaugural state championships at the University of North Texas.

This past weekend, both Eastwood and El Dorado made runs at the state championships all the way to the title game.
Eastwood would fall to the Memorial Mustangs 19-6 in the Texans State Championship Game.
After an overtime victory in the semifinals, El Dorado fell 24-0 to the Heath Hawks in the Cowboys State Championship Game.

Heath would go on to beat Memorial to become the first-ever Texas state champion.
This was the second season of high school flag football in El Paso.
Now, many involved in high school athletics are lobbying the UIL to make it an official sport.
