Warner Bros. and Avalanche Software have yet to share new details on “Hogwarts Legacy 2,” but a new update now claims that there are still multiple chances for the company to unveil the successor for all fans to see.
‘Hogwarts Legacy 2’ Update Brings Bad News
Previous rumors claimed that “Hogwarts Legacy 2” would be unveiled during the PlayStation State of Play event or the Summer Games Fest, which are two of the largest game shows this year, according to ComicBook Gaming.
However, neither the State of Play nor the Summer Games Fest featured anything about “Hogwarts Legacy’s” sequel, which could have confirmed the game’s existence.
The report said that its absence from both shows confirms a lot from the studios, especially as WB Games is known for its consistent marketing behind tentpole releases such as “Hogwarts Legacy,” as evident with the original game’s release.
Past rumors claimed that, should the sequel have been unveiled this summer, a possible first half of 2027 release would have been possible.
When Can the Game be Potentially Announced?
According to ComicBook Gaming, there is still one specific event that could be the channel where WB Games and Avalanche Software may reveal their game, and that is the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase this June 7.
However, it was noted by the publication that it could not be possible as PlayStation previously held the marketing rights of the game, and it moving to Xbox would be unlikely.
That said, the report claimed that should it not debut during the Xbox Games Showcase, there is still one more event where it could be unveiled. The report claims that it can be revealed on September 1, which is widely known to “Harry Potter” fans as the “Back to Hogwarts” day.
This annual massive celebration of the Wizarding World franchise has become the backdrop of announcements from Warner Bros. for fans in the past.
Moreover, there could be more State of Play events later in the year, and if the game is really coming, it is speculated that there may be another one dedicated for it.
What We May Expect From ‘Hogwarts Legacy 2’
As of press time, there is still nothing from either Avalanche Software or Warner Bros. Games regarding the sequel to its action-adventure open-world game released three years ago, but leaks and rumors have already talked a lot about what it could possibly bring.
According to previous reports, WB Games and Avalanche Software would focus on an entirely different story with the sequel title, especially as they feel that the studio has already wrapped up the story of the original game.
Recent reports said that “Hogwarts Legacy 2” will focus on a single-player RPG instead of a previous speculation that it could be a multiplayer game.
