The New York Knicks have escaped with a 105-104 win in Game 2 of the 2026 NBA Finals after Victor Wembanyama missed a game-winning attempt at the buzzer.

New York led by 14 points with six minutes to play but relinquished the lead rapidly and trailed by two points late after a Wembanyama bucket plus a foul.

Jalen Brunson tied the game with a fadeaway jumper, and after the teams exchanged stops, a costly turnover and foul by Wembanyama sent Brunson to the line, where he split a pair. With the Spurs trailing by a point, Wembanyama rose over Mitchell Robinson for a mid-range jumper, but it didn’t fall in the final seconds.

The Knicks overcame an ugly 7-of-25 shooting night by Brunson, propelled by 21 points from Karl-Anthony Towns and 20 points from Mikal Bridges. Wembanyama finished with 29 points on 11-of-21 shooting, and De’Aaron Fox added 20 points of his own.

The series will shift to Madison Square Garden for Game 3 on Monday.
