Intel recently announced the launch of its new Arc G-Series processor family, a lineup designed specifically for next-generation handheld gaming systems. The new processors, including the Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme models, are built on the architecture of Intel Core Ultra Series 3, codenamed Panther Lake, and are optimized to deliver high gaming performance, power efficiency, and extended battery life in portable gaming devices.

The company said the Arc G-Series processors were purpose-built for handheld gaming, featuring optimized core configurations, power management capabilities, and software enhancements. Intel noted that the processors are designed to provide smooth gameplay, immersive graphics, and efficient performance without requiring users to compromise between power and battery life.

Intel revealed that the first handheld systems powered by the Arc G-Series platform will come from partners including Acer, MSI, and OneXPlayer. Devices expected to launch include Acer’s Predator Atlas 8, MSI’s Claw 8 EX AI+, and new products from OneXPlayer.

The processors feature up to Intel Arc B390 graphics based on Intel’s Xe3 graphics architecture. The platform supports advanced gaming technologies such as real-time ray tracing and XeSS 3, Intel’s AI-powered graphics enhancement suite designed to improve performance, responsiveness, and visual quality.

Additional features include support for Xbox Mode, a controller-focused full-screen gaming experience for Windows 11 devices, Intel Precompiled Shaders for faster game launches, and connectivity technologies such as integrated Wi-Fi 7 R2, dual Bluetooth 6, and Thunderbolt 4.

Intel said the processors are manufactured using its Intel 18A process technology and include a configuration of two performance cores, eight efficiency cores, and four low-power efficiency cores.

The company also highlighted XeSS 3, which combines XeSS Super Resolution, XeSS Multi-Frame Generation, and Xe Low Latency technologies to enhance gaming performance and responsiveness.

Intel expects handheld systems powered by Arc G-Series processors to begin shipping from OEM partners starting in June 2026, with broader availability throughout the year. Additional details will be shared during Computex 2026.
