My main motivation was really just to see if I could capture the atmosphere of an endless, sprawling metropolis, where you could wander for hours, perhaps fly around, climb on the rooftops, stuff like that. With no real objectives or pressure to do anything, just a chill walking simulator with atmospheric scenery. It's meant to be a meditative experience.
I've made it for myself initially, which is why it's not available anywhere other than my GitHub, but I decided to share it in case anyone else might enjoy it.
It's Windows-only at the moment, though I reckon it shouldn't be too hard to compile for macOS, as it's Godot: https://github.com/jazzonaut/nightwalk/releases
I don't precompile the shaders, so the initial load might be quite bumpy – just give it 10-20s to settle on first run.
It's completely free and open source.
