If it were up to me, and if they are able to have a long enough of a campaign to wrap everything up I think MW4 is the right ending place. If it’s anything similar to the original MW3 with it just being 141 vs makarov and being high stakes, nobody safe.
Definitely had its issues at some points (MWII MP & MWIII Campaign mostly) but if this game is done well I’d say it’s overall a solid series as far as recent cod games go. And story wise I don’t wanna see this dragged out too much, there can’t be that much more of a story to tell and I don’t wanna see these characters story butchered like we just saw with the BO2 characters in BO7 campaign.
We’ve never before had a streak of 4 back to back games from the same devs covering the same characters/story. All other series before have ended by at most 3 games and I think even though MWIII was essentially campaign story dlc, I still think having 4 games is a bit of a stretch and any more is too much.
I think we’re in a bit of a transition phase like we were like 13 years ago where Treyarch & IW gotta move on from there respective stories and start something new, whether it works right away or not
