I’m gonna rank these just based on how much I enjoyed them and the world they were set in. All of this I took into account but some things carry more than others.

  1. The matrix
  2. Upgrade
  3. Nemesis
  4. Alita Battle Angel OVA

Note: Also I have seen tons of cyberpunk media and played games so before anybody makes suggestions this is just stuff I’ve watched recently.

Yes this was actually my first time watching the matrix and I plan to watch the Animatrix a bit later. I think the setting and how things function in the matrix is much more interesting but I preferred the grounded nature and not the overtop action of Upgrade. I thought all of these were pretty good but if I’m honest even though I have it ranked second in terms of enjoyment I actually enjoyed upgrade the most. I’m kinda overloaded with things to read and things to watch right now but I’m working my way through what I can.

I just wanted to praise upgrade especially cause the whole plot twist isn’t one I expected but to me that’s how you do cyberpunk live action without it being tied to an existing property. I’m not sure upgrade is in my top 5 cyberpunk content but it was great. I think out of all of these though Nemesis surprised me the most. I mean the acting is pretty bad and the plot isn’t anything new BUT the special effects and the action scenes definitely stand out. I think even for its time I can say I really enjoyed this B movie. I mean if you can get past quite a few negatives I feel like some heart went into this movie and the feeling of the world and designs really shows somebody at least cared. I’m kinda overloaded with things to read and things to watch right now but I’m working my way through what I can. Once I finish the sprawl trilogy I will be reading Altered Carbon and probably watching the show after.

I apologize for this disjointed mess of mine but when I’m giving opinions I just say what’s on my mind which can probably be annoying hopping from one thing to another. Also this is NOT my art but I did find it on Pinterest and it’s obviously inspired by case from Neuromancer. It’s by someone named Michael Thomas who I hope is the original creator.
