Hi gents. I woke up this morning to an extortion message from this guy who had gained access to my account. It indeed showed my status as in-game on a different machine. I quickly did everything I could to secure my account, including signing off all sessions, updating my password, and opening a support ticket with Steam. I did the same resets for my email address that my account is tied to. I disabled the ethernet on my gaming pc and did all of this from my phone while I backed up important files and wiped my hard drive to reinstall windows, just to be extra safe. I honestly have no clue how he managed to do this considering I have 2fa enabled for steam, my email, basically everything. Hopefully my account is now fairly secure, but he did seem to already cheat in a premier match like he said:

I'm 32, I'm washed up, I just play this game with friends for fun, there's no way in hell I'd ever hit 96% HS. I'm absolutely sweating bullets here. My account means a lot to me, sure, but I have a single AK gold arabesque that I care about and have been trading up to over the course of 5-6 years. What are the odds I catch a ban because of this and lose access to my item? I know Valve is positively brutal on cheaters, but does anyone know what they do in a situation where the account was compromised? My buddy says to trade him the skin but I'm afraid of making myself look worse somehow, idk.
